Chengdu is a city of small pleasures. We start early at the Giant Panda Base, when the pandas are active, then return to the city for a long lunch and an afternoon in a traditional teahouse.

A cooking session introduces the ingredients behind Sichuan’s famous flavors, followed by free time in the lanes around Kuanzhai and the Jin River.

The pace is deliberately gentle, making this an easy first stop for families or a recovery leg after a longer China itinerary.
